Information on a wide range of topics such as a) district-wise five year perspective plans under the National Food for Work Programme, b) district development plans, c) information on different acts and schemes, d) forest schemes, e) education policy guidelines, f) livelihood strengthening models, g) various training modules, and h) various government circulars and gazettes is collected and disseminated to partner NGOs and communities. This information is also made available in Oriya for easy understanding and large-scale dissemination among local people.

IEC materials in the form of brochures, leaflets and posters are developed and disseminated, while radio programmes, street plays, and songs are created and performed to increase public awareness on RTI throughout Orissa.

Issues and Challenges for Small & Marginal Farmers of Koraput, Orissa The research study highlighted the agricultural problems faced by small & marginal farmers of Boipariguda block, Koraput. The study covers a wide range of issues related to cropping patterns, and the government's extension services on agriculture. Some of the issues and challenges raised by the farmers include unavailability of seeds, lack of soil testing mechanisms, and inadequate land development and irrigation facilities.

Mass awareness campaigns are undertaken through print media, posters, rallies, street plays and village meetings to disseminate information on the Panchayati Raj system.

Two news bulletins in Oriya, Gram Swaraj (monthly) and Nagar Varta (quarterly) are published to disseminate information to PRIs, government officials, NGOs, media and academics on issues related to rural self-governance and urban governance respectively.

Publications are brought out regularly on budget issues. Some of the major publications include i) Budget Watch I: State Spending on Social Services in Orissa - 1995/96 - 2003/04; ii) Budget Watch II - Pattern of State Spending in Orissa: A Summary Report; and iii) Making Sense of the Budget: A handbook on Budget Terminology.

State and regional level workshops are conducted to disseminate budget related information and generate regular coverage in local media of important budgetary trends. State legislatures are oriented on the budget and its implications to effectively take part in the budget-making process.

To educate people on the provisions, implications and benefits of the Act, and how to make use of it, various programmes and workshops are organized for PRI representatives, SHG and CBO members, youth clubs and the media.
